367th Day: TI addresses his plea deal and his plan for redemption

Earlier today a judge approved the unique terms of T.I.’s plea deal…In exchange for pleading guilty to two counts of illegal possession of machine guns and silencers, and one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a gun, TI is avoiding a prolonged expensive trial and the possibility of a 30 year sentence. His punishment pales in comparison…..One year and a day of jail time (with possibility of time off for good behavior), that wont start until next year. Until then, TI must perform 1000 hours of community service, specifically talking to youth groups across the country. He must also pay a $100,000 fine. But this delayed jail term means that TI will be able to 1)release his album this year and earn money, 2) be home for the birth of his song later this spring.
There will be quite the heavy anvil hanging over TI’s head though….the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports…
“If [Tip "T.I" Harris] does not abide by the terms of the plea agreement, [Judge] Panell can sentence him up to 57 months in prison. In addition, Harris could face a sentence of up to 97 months in prison if Panell finds that Harris has not accepted responsibility for his actions.”
Personally, I feel like TI’s gun jones was a matter of nurture, not nature. And he seems like a smart enough man to take this sobering reality check and learn from it. Just my opinion…

he is a 7 time felon, but he has never faced up to 30 years of prison before, bet, so sometimes the last time can be the right time. if no his life is screwed. sometimes having a temper with money isnt the best thing, then to see your close friends die right in front of you, while you got kids that need protection, can prompt a guy to do the wrong thing thinking he’s doing right…so i pray for him to not mess this deal up because you can feel the whole vibe change on atl radio stations, everyone is happy that he got this deal

I feel that if he is able to help the young people, that he has served his sentence, going to jail which is over crowded already is not the solution now-a-days he can do more good on the outside and the taxpayer will not have to pay for him.

wow given the situation that we just went through in OAKLAND CA when they let this silly boy get out of jail and then he RAPED a 12 year old girl and beat her then turned around and shot 4 oakland police officers, TI looks like a SAINT compared to him, Jail is not always the answer
