After years of stopping and stalling, the 2Pac biopic is finally happening. According to Deadline, Morgan Creek Productions have partnered with Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films to co-finance and co-produce the long-awaited film, Tupac. With an estimated budget of $45 million, production will begin in Atlanta next February.

The movie will have full access to 2Pac’s music catalog and even has the blessing of his mother, Afeni Shakur, who will be on board as a producer. Acclaimed directors like Antoine Fuqua and John Singleton have previously been linked to the film, but a director for Tupac has not yet been secured.

Now let the speculation begin about who will (or can) portray ‘Pac on the big screen.
