Back in 2014, Uncle Murda decided to join the year-end recap series “Rap Up” following in the footsteps of Virginia rapper Skillz. Delivering a perspective from the streets, Uncle Murda’s entertaining version is now in its third year. On “Rap Up 2016,” the Brooklyn spitter touches on all the major headlines that took over the news and social media this year including Kim Kardashian getting robbed in Paris, Kanye’s issues with JAY Z, Donald Trump, Murda himself signing to G-Unit, Drake’s dominant year, Bobby Shmurda and GS9, and takes time to respond to Skillz, who threw a jab at Uncle Murda for doing his own “Rap Up.”

Lil’ Uzi Vert hosted “A Very Uzi Christmas” concert in his hometown of Philadelphia last weekend. Along with bringing out guests like Fabolous and A$AP Ferg, Wiz Khalifa made a surprise appearance announcing on stage that Uzi signed with Taylor Gang Records before gifting him a TGOD chain. Hours later, Khalifa would confirm the announcement on Twitter after the news created a buzz online.

Now, DJ Drama and Don Cannon have put out statements, revealing Lil Uzi Vert is not signed with Taylor Gang. “Due to any confusion or contrary belief, Lil Uzi Vert is only “Signed” to Generation Now, LLC !,” tweeted DJ Drama, informing fans Uzi is only under his Generation Now imprint with Don Cannon. “Respectfully, we have alotta of love for Taylor Gang and Wiz, but Lil Uzi Vert is signed to Generation Now. Here is your answer,” says Cannon, who along with DJ Drama have mentored the the 22-year-old rapper.

Back in December 2015, Lil’ Uzi Vert signed a joint venture with Drama and Cannon’s Generation Now and Atlantic Records.

The Bay Area legend adds a new verse to the record, which should pick up a little more buzz as 2017 is around the corner.

Before 2016 comes to a close, though, the Jet Life pilot caps things off with his 12th and final mixtape of the year. The aptly titled 12/30 includes 12 new joints from Spitta, among those collaborations with 2 Chainz, Freddie Gibbs and Smoke DZA.

“This tape is the last collection of jams I will release until my album drops in April,” Spitta says.

It appears Drake and Jennifer Lopez are officially a couple. The two music stars, who have been the talk of entertainment news in recent weeks, shared their first public intimate moment on Thursday night (Dec. 29). J. Lo hosted a Winter Wonderland themed promo party in Los Angeles, which continued on until the early hours of Friday morning. Photos and footage has surfaced online, and in various clips the Latin star and OVO rapper are seen in each other’s arms sharing a kiss.

Along with showing off their moves on the dance floor, a new song recorded by J. Lo and Drake is heard playing in the background, a record that appears on sample Black Coffee’s “Superman” according to KTT. Actress Leah Remini was in attendance, while Drake’s father Dennis Graham brought his band along to play during the night.

The footage comes days after the 47-year-old singer and the 30-year-old rapper shared a cozy photo online, fueling dating rumors that first popped up in early December.

DVSN’s Sept. 5th album was one of the most celebrated R&B releases of the year, especially since Drake put his co-sign on it. The artist on OVO had been quiet with follow-up material until this month, when three videos were released from the album. Now a short film accompanies the end of the year celebration, which has music from the effort feature. On The Choir, a group of young women pull off a heist and the film shows how it all came about.
