One of hip-hop’s favorite boy bands is gearing up to drop a new album and have a brand new single produced by hitmaker Bryan Michael Cox. The ATL quartet will release a sequel to their 2000 LP J.E. Heartbreak, called J.E. Heartbreak Too, later this year. Jermaine Dupri is on board as executive producer.

“Making a sequel to a classic album is difficult,” Dupri said in a statement. “We don’t want to stray from the blueprint of the first album. It’s definitely a challenge, but the fans won’t be disappointed.”

50 cent good morning america.jpg

As you may have heard, 50 Cent threw out probably the worst opening pitch in baseball history at the Mets game the other day. Seriously, the ball was further left than the Communist Party USA. However, Fiddy was seen throwing strikes in the pre-game warm up session, leading people to suggest that this was all an elaborate (and surely desperate) attempt to promote his Animal Ambition album, which hits stores next week.

So, did 50 really miss the home plate on purpose? “Oh no, no. It slipped, it slipped out of my hand,” he protested with a wry smile during an interview on Good Morning America. He also explained that it was Curtis, not 50 Cent, who threw the pitch. “I’m trying to get Curtis to be like 50 Cent,” the rapper joked. Well, Curtis Jackson gon’ Curtis Jackson.

After his interview, 50 Cent took the stage in Central Park to perform “In Da Club,” “Just a Lil Bit” and “Smoke” alongside Trey Songz for Good Morning America‘s Summer Concert Series.
