50-cent-smoke-500x500

Starting the week off strong, 50 Cent has delivered one of his best singles in recent years. Teaming up with Trey Songz on the hook and Dr. Dre and Dawaun Parker on the boards, Fif really shows that he isn’t finished yet. Upbeat and radio friendly without being corny, this is 50 at his best. Animal Ambition hits stores June 3.

miyah-nicki-minaj-2

With the help of a new friend, Nicki Minaj made a little girl’s wish come true. Three weeks ago, NBA All-Star John Wall posted a video on Instagram of 5-year-old cancer patient Miyah. Her one wish? To meet Nicki Minaj and receive one of the rapper’s famous pink wigs. Through social media with the hashtags #HelpMiyahMeetNicki #PinkWig4Miyah, Miyah’s wish was granted on Sunday, as she flew with her mother to meet Queen Barbz.

Nicki spent time with Miyah, who wore the pink wig and posed for photos which were later posted on Instagram. “Looks like operation #helpMiyahMeetNicki was a success! #PinkWig4Miyah ~ Thank you @john_wall 😉 she’s perfect!,” posted Minaj, who received an autographed jersey from John Wall as a token of his appreciation.

A$AP Ferg returns to his roots with a new freestyle, “Petit Valley.” The A$AP Mob member recently spent time in his home country of Trinidad, staying in Petit Valley during Carnival 2014. The time spent on the beautiful Caribbean island results in Ferg’s latest record, over Bunji Garlin’s “Carnival Tabanca.”

keef

The RZA of the Glory Boyz, Young Chop, is gearing up to release his own project in the coming weeks and has the whole crew bangin’ with him. On the first single from the album, Sosa and Keef take care of microphone duties on the stark instrumental. It’s like a creepy techno influenced trap beat.

young thug chinx drugz.jpg

I might crack a smile but ain’t a damn thing funny. New York’s Chinx stars alongside ATLiens Young Thug and Shad Da God in the video to their recent collaboration, “Laugh,” off The Jack Move mixtape. It’s a familiar ski mask story as one poor guy gets caught slipping, but these aren’t the usual suspects. Meanwhile, Chinx brings the Coke Boys bars, Shad serves up a syrupy flow and Thugga Thugga is as eccentric as ever. He even rocks his leopard-print dress that everyone is talking about.

migos first 48.jpg

Migos aren’t letting yesterday’s shootout in Miami slow them down. In fact, it looks like they’ll probably (and ironically) come off better from it as they debut the video for “First 48,” the No Label 2 cut in which Quavo promises to “pull the chopper, start spraying on these n***as.” The clip finds the Atlanta trio in full street soldier gear each waving around an assault rifle, baseball bat and machete. Say what you will about their music, but you can’t accuse Migos of placing art over authenticity.

flatbush zombies don't do drugs kids

We’d be lying if we said music doesn’t have a direct impact on our decisions. We’d also be lying if we said Flatbush Zombies didn’t tempt us to at least try shrooms and LCD (it was a lot of fun. Oh, and sorry for shaving the cat, Grandma). But before you confuse their latest track, “Don’t Do Drugs,” with a sudden flip flop on psychedelics, the Brooklyn trio simply issue a word of warning if you want to kick it with them, because Meech, Juice and Erick get so damn high your head will be spinning like a poltergeist.

“Don’t Do Drugs” is the second taste of the Zombies’ upcoming EP, It’s All a Matter of Perspective, and also the first in their new “Day of the Dead” weekly music series.
