Opening this year’s event was Chris Brown, who kicked off the Soul Train Awards with a medley of past hits during his decade-long career, plus current smash hits “Loyal” and “New Flame.” Missy Elliott, Lil’ Kim, and Da Brat came together on stage for ladies night, performing their “Not Tonight (Remix)” collaboration for the first-time in 17 years as a part of a tribute to 2014 Honorees Kool and The Gang, whose 1979 song “Ladies’ Night” was sampled on the platinum-selling record. The trio were also joined by former Bad Boy Records R&B group Total, and rapper Lady of Rage, as a video tribute played on stage during the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes’ verse.

Ma$e and R&B newcomer Justine Skye rocked the stage together, while Tinashe had many on their feet dancing to her Aquarius smash-hit “2 On.” Another anticipated reunion on stage came from the legendary R&B group Jodeci, who performed together for the first-time since 2006, and after 18-years debuted a new song titled “Nobody Wins” of their upcoming fourth studio album. The quartet of Mr. Dalvin, DeVante Swing, K-Ci and JoJo were joined by B.o.B, who has a guest verse on the ballad which touches on the subject of domestic violence.

Nico and Vinz, Tank, Machel Montano, and “Nae Nae” group We Are Toonz were some of the other performers from the evening. Trey Songz, Michelle Williams, Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather, Joe, Elle Varner, MC Lyte, Sevyn Streeter, Faith Evans, Flavor Flav, and Boris Kodjoe served as presenters.

The 2014 Soul Train Awards airs exclusively on BET and Centric on Sunday, November 30 at 8 p.m. EST.
