The 2013 BET Hip-Hop Awards debuted on Tuesday night with a lot of fireworks. Some of rap’s biggest stars descended upon Atlanta’s Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center for some hot performances, and claim the biggest awards. Hosted by Snoop Dogg, this year’s spectacle was opened by none other than Meek Mill, who brought his Philly street music to the stage performing the “Dreams & Nightmares Intro” and “Levels.”

2 Chainz performed a medley of current hits and past classics with Mannie Fresh and Juvenile. Future kept it “Honest” with DJ Khaled and Rick Ross, as TDE’s ScHoolboy Q, Kendrick Lamar, and Jay Rock made their awards show debut. French Montana set the stage on fire with Diddy, Rick Ross, and Snoop Dogg, leading up to a southern medley set from Yo Gotti, Rocko, and Rich Homie Quan.

The evening closed as Bone Thugs-N-Harmony brought some 90s-classics, ending the two-hour show. MC Lyte was honored with this year’s “I Am Hip-Hop” Award as Kendrick Lamar stole the night winning five awards including “Album of the Year.”
