Mikey: Last night, T.I. made his return to Chelsea Lately and once again was accosted by the talk show host. While fending off any questions regarding his relationship with Tiny and Chelsea’s own sexual advances, lol, Tip managed to plug his new flick Takers,  signature Remy Martin and forthcoming album King Uncaged.

Previously: T.I. charms the pants off “Chelsea Lately”

Mikey: Jeezy’s new go-to guy for videos, Decatur Dan, shot some behind scenes clips from the Trapstar and Drake’s performance at this year’s BET Awards.

Mikey: Director Michael Gondry has remade the 1960’s action hero television series The Green Hornet into a full length motion picture set to hit theaters next January. The  original Green Hornet was played by **VanWilliams and his sidekick Kato was played by** none other than Bruce Lee but was short lived and lasted for only one season.

The remake stars Seth Rogan as The Green Hornet, Cameron Diaz and Chinese pop star Jay Chou as Kato. And the best part, the movie’s soundtrack features the musical stylings of Slaughterhouse, Ghostface, Jay Electronica and more. Peep the trailer above.

After the jump, check out trailers for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Discapable Me as well new tracks that Pharrell recorded for the animated flick’s soundtrack.

Untitled
Lauryn Hill performing at the Harmony Festival in SF.

Mikey: In a recent and extremely rare interview, Zoe Chace of NPR, tracked down Ms. Hill after her performance at this year’s Harmony Festival in San Fransisco. As a part of NPR’s 50 Greatest Voices interview series, Zoe and Ms. Hill talk candidly on her absence from the music scene and her recent return to performing.

Listen: NPR’s All Things Considered Radio Show feat. Lauryn Hill

Zoe Chace: I ask her the question her fans have been asking each other for years: Why did you stop putting out music?

“There were a number of different reasons,” she says. “But partly, the support system that I needed was not necessarily in place. There were things about myself, personal-growth things, that I had to go through in order to feel like it was worth it. In fact, as musicians and artists, it’s important we have an environment — and I guess when I say environment, I really mean the [music] industry, that really nurtures these gifts. Oftentimes, the machine can overlook the need to take care of the people who produce the sounds that have a lot to do with the health and well-being of society, or at least some aspect of society. And it’s important that people be given the time that they need to go through, to grow, so that the consciousness level of the general public is properly affected.  Oftentimes, I think people are forced to make decisions prematurely. And then that sound radiates.” Lauryn Hill (From The Many Voices of Lauryn Hill)

Aww, good for Neyo. The HipHollywood crew (shout to my girl Samantha Jacobson) talked to Neyo at the BET Awards about the news that he is expecting a baby! His girlfriend, actress Monyetta Shaw is 2 months pregnant, and even though Neyo’s first comment is a bit more fatalistic than I expected (“common sense would tell you now isn’t a good time to bring a baby into this world”)….he seems ready and exciting about being a dad. If you remember that tacky episode Neyo went through back in 2007, he was dating a woman who convinced him her child Chimere was his….which turned out to be a lie.

See photos of Neyo and his baby-moms to be, Monyetta…after the jump

The homie Nigel/RealTalkNY went down to Kingston to cover the Sean Kingston x Nicki Minaj video shoot for the song “Dutty Love” with director Little X. (Sean was well-outfitted by my good friend TifftheStylist by the way)

In the process of watching this video (mostly with the sound down because of the bass distortion), I learned (around the 3:18 mark) that Sean and Nicki basically set up this collaboration…via BBM.
Wow, sign of the times. BBM is both gift and curse. I’m stilling craving a new iPhone 4G, but that basically means I’ll have to keep both iPhone and Blackberry. I want the dual-cameras and FaceTime and apps….but I can’t give up the auto-pushed instant email notifications and the BBM. Oy.
Speaking of smartphones…Remember when Sean Kingston sung that ditty on youtube about how he was the only person in the US with a new Blackberry Bold. #fail.
I’ll post it just for old times sake…
