Lowkey posted this latest clip from that my sit-down with Gucci Mane, over at his BET Soundoff blog. In it, Gucci reveals that “Spotlight” is in fact, not his first collabo with Usher, it’s his third. He was the original rapper on “Love in the Club.”
(so what was the 2nd?)
Bdot/RR went to Best Buy in Union Square to see the Doctor and Jimmy Iovine promote their latest Beats by Dre hardware, and I believe Diplo, David Guetta and the Monster Cable suits were on hand too. Sadly, Bdot reports that Iovine blocked Dre from answering any 50 vs Game questions, but that’s not surprising. They were there to shill, lol.
Rihanna called into the Bert Show in Atlanta and discussed her ex, Chris Brown, and shuts down the rumors that she’s dating CB-look-a-like (sort of), actor Tristan Wilds (aka the pup on “The Wire”)…(spotted on TMZ via Ill)
Rihanna on Atlanta radio (The Bert Show)
Interviewers: Do you still miss Chris?
Rihanna: Um, sometimes. Actually yes. There are alot of reminders, alot of hotel rooms, alot of places that we’ve been to together, music, different things that come up that are reminders of your ex….I’ve gotten over it, but there’s definitely constant reminders. Alot of it is listening to the radio, songs that come on, that were our favorite songs or his songs.
Interviewers: Is there any truth to the stories that you’re dating Tristan Wilds [The Wire]?
Rihanna: I don’t even have his number…I had a house party, this is funny, you know how a bunch of people come over that you don’t even know. And he came by, which was fun for me, I appreciated the company and he brought a bunch of friends….but I dont even have his number, so I dont know how I can be dating him.
Interviewers: Are you even open to dating right now?
(Green Lantern x Emilio Rojas The Natural mixtape, Snoop Dogg “Protocol” (music vid), and The Noisettes x Wale x Estelle “Don’t Upset The Rhythm (Tricky Remix)” after the jump)
I’m looking forward to the 2nd installment of BET’s interview series “Food for Thought,” this time pairing 50 Cent with Angie Martinez, Harry Allen and Stephen A. Smith. The show airs tonite at 7:30pm, but along with 50’s much ballyhooed comment about “Mr. Knowles,” in this clip we see Fif telling Angie what songs he wished were his over the years….2 of them, I get. The last one? LOL. (thnx to Lowkey)
I like The Game, he’s a talented lyricist, and very personable, friendly, animated, and at times, hilarious on Twitter. But at the same time, I take everything he says with a massive silo of salt, because 1) its liable to change before you’re done transcribing the quote, and 2) Game is skilled at retro-fitting reality to fit his theories. That said, the homie Joe LaPuma had an interesting chat with Game about his upcoming R.E.D. album, and, of course, 50 50 50.
Complex: So working with Dre again, it seemed to piss 50 off a little bit… Game: That made 50 mad, man. Complex: Do you think it was a jealousy thing? Game: 50’s just bitter, man. For what reason? I don’t know. He doesn’t have to be. Me and his beef is old at this point. It’s pure comedy for me at this point…. Nobody is going to kill each other. Nobody is gonna beat each other’s ass. I’m not gonna do none of that. So we might as well get along. We exist in hip-hop. You know with opening arms he can re-join my band of brothers. Just say sorry and you want to make music. He’ll never be as big as he was and he’ll never be able to put out an album that people will be waiting for and anticipate as much without me, period. And I ain’t saying that he needs me, but me and him made the best records together. [Note: how many records was that? Don't most fans think GRODT was Fif's best work?] I understand it, he needs to understand it, and maybe one day we’ll record. He said recently in an interview that he’ll never work with Game again but that’s all him talking and his ego. I can’t wait to mend the ties with Eminem…That’s his artist and his homie and what not, and I understood it but I’d love to get back with Eminem and work again and sort of restructure the Voltron if you will. [Wait, did all three ever work together?]
Mikey: With BISD in stores now, Fif is taking his wit and charisma all over late night television. Tuesday night it was Conan and last night, Fifty did Jimmy Kimmel performing “Do You Think About Me”, which is one of the few tracks off BISD where Curtis talks openly about his past relationships with the opposite sex, “It’s like Paul McCartney stuck in my head, fell in love with a b-tch walked away with one leg.” (props to Yardie)
(Jimmy Kimmel interview, Conan O’Brien, and Yahoo Maximum appearances after the jump)
Zach: “Does anyone ever tell you, you seem like the black Byron Allen?…”
I hadn’t watched any of Zach Galifianakis’s “Between Two Ferns” interview series on Funny or Die until I saw this clip today on EW’s PopWatch blog. How did I miss this all this time? I know how…because Zeus was waiting for this special day to rain absolute hilarity on my crappy mood. So I’ve spent the past 30min. watching these clips, and now I’m fully ready to hit the streets again and be my normal moderate-to-very grouchy self! Sunshine!
But seriously, these are awesome. I posted a couple other favorites after the jump…including Zach with Natalie Portman, and Zach with Bradley Cooper (The Hangover), and Zach with John Hamm (”Mad Men”) (more…)
honestly, I cringed when I saw the footage of Manny’s Filipino film venture in the most recent HBO “24-7″ series leading up to last weekend’s gory Pacquiao vs Cotto fight. It looked beyond embarrassing. But now watching the finished trailer…it looks more campy than clown-y. And according to ChannelAPA, the “Wapakman” satire is being compared to Stephen Chow’s ‘Kung Fu Hustle,” which (along with my other Chow favorites, like “God of Cookery” and “Shaolin Soccer,”) was hilarious and fun. We’ll see, but that’s setting the bar super high. Either way, the contrast of Pacman the deadly weapon vs Manny the karaoke-singer, always cracks me up.
(ps: also, Nicole from the Pussy Cat Dolls is in the movie too…..um. random)
