Relationship Baggage: I saw Tahiry down in Miami, at the Belvedere Penthouse (photo to come) and she told me that she was prepping a new vlog for Thisis50, and that 50 has taken a special interest in developing new projects with her (oh boy…what part of “The 50th Law of Power” is this?). In the latest clip, she and her equally shapely friends show off their numerous tattoos, and Tahiry “retires” her pelvis ode to her ex-boyfriend Joe Budden. (The whole thing reiterates why I would never put a man’s name on my body like that. I’d just bake the guy a cake.)

Family Drama: Blogxilla and TMZ are reporting that Beyonce’s dad Matthew Knowles may be the father of a new baby boy. A woman named Alexandra Wright has an ongoing paternity suit against Knowles, and last week, she reportedly gave birth to a boy named Nixon. Matthew and Beyonce’s mom Tina have been separated for a year, but if the paternity proves true, then Beyonce would have a baby brother. And sister Solange’s young son would have a uncle in diapers. *scratches wig*

Odd Combos: Diplo talked to PedestrianTV about producing the upcoming M.I.A. and said, “Been in the studio with M.I.A. working on her new record. It’s like Gucci Mane meets Animal Collective. I think there are a couple of people [producing] but we’re going to finish it off, me and Switch. We’ve done like four tracks already.” lol. sold!

New Video: Wale’s new “Pretty Girls” video just debuted on 106 & Park, and now he’s fielding criticism on twitter. Why do you think? The girls look model-ish, but maybe not as flavorful as, say…in a Petey Pablo video. I’d say if anything, it’s a bit odd that there isn’t more girl in the clip overall. Especially given the title.

Mikey: Feb 7th will forever be a somber and bittersweet day in Hip-Hop. The day marks the passing of the late Big Pun and the birthday of the also deceased J-Dilla. These two Hip-Hop figures both in their own respect were responsible for influencing some many and creating their own lanes in the game. Here are a few reminders of the greatness that Big Pun and J-Dilla brought to Hip-Hop. (RIP Big Pun & J-Dilla)

Mikey: Diddy definitely had Super Bowl Weekend locked in Miami where he hosted 7 Different  parties over the course of 4 days. HHNM posted some footage of his party at Mia at Biscayne. (shouts to Maggie/Bad Boy)

omg….I almost didn’t click play on this video for precisely the same reason that Funny or Die made this….but I’m glad I did. I love when others reinforce my own inner cynicism. Tells me that I’m not alone.

But he also announced his new solo concert dates for his new “Campus Consciousness Tour“…which sounds like a celibacy-advocacy campaign, but it will actually be Drake, with opening acts “K-OS, a Canadian rapper and singer/songwriter, and Francis & The Lights, a synth-pop band based in New York City.”
(Wait…the press release says its also called “The Away from Home Tour,” but that’s not actually an improvement.)

Mikey: With less than 24 hours left until Weezy must turn himself to serve a 1 year bid in prison (Rikers Island), MTV News went in depth to find out what his new life will be like behind bars. It’s expected with good behavior Wayne will only have to serve 8 months. (thanks J-Rod)

What Lil Wayne can expect in Jail

1. Wake up at 4am for breakfast
2. For remainder of the day, Wayne has option of recreation & religious study
3. Weezy will have a DVD Player and be able to watch network television (no cable)
4. No Ipod
5. Doesn’t have to cut his hair

“Hip-Hop cop” Derrick Parker told MTV News. “While he’s in jail, it’s a matter of fact they may not put him with the general population because of who he is and his popularity. They might lock him down and let him come out with a supervisor and stuff like that [when he's] in the main area — but he’s definitely going to be treated differently.”

The homie Joeyie pointed out how surreal this Superbowl commercial was and because it was so short, it almost made you wonder…wait, did that just happen? Well, a few years back, David Letterman had a similar ad with just him and Oprah, but obviously with all the Late Night Talk Show wars, this is a major coup…and a brilliant move. Except….without Conan too, its just not the same.

Turns out, the Late Show team had to sneak Jay Leno into their studio in disguise, and that they desperately wanted Conan, but according to Nikki Finke, his reps said “they had too much going on to consider it.” Booo!

In related news: there are reports that Conan O’Brien and Fox are moving towards a deal. Conan would probably take a paycut, meanwhile Fox would approach the show like a syndication…that means that not all the Fox affiliates will air Conan at the same time, or at all…in the beginning.
